It's a classic cake in my country but they don't always make it right, sometimes it's too dry or too wet but if it's done right it can be one of the best things you've ever tried. It is often made with different types of fruit or plain but I like it with canned peaches.
- 1 white cake
- 1/2 c. of condensed milk
- 1/2 c. of evaporated milk
- 1/2 c. of whole milk
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla
- 1 tablespoon of Rum
1. Make white cake according to instructions and let it cool completely, remove from the pan and then put it back, pierce the cake with a fork. Combine the rest of the ingredients in a medium bowl.
2. Pour mixture into cake and let it soak for 1 hour in the fridge. Meanwhile beat 1c. of whipping cream with 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar, slice 1/2 can of peaches.
Assemble by carefully putting 1 cake in a platter, cover with whipped cream and peaches, put second cake on top and spread a thin layer of whipped cream |
